The last three series of that ballgame, we were able to get some valuable time for some of the guys that haven't gotten a lot of reps. We were able to divide up the reps. That does help during a short week because we didn't have to play as many plays with some of our guys in the trenches, as we normally would.

And our people were way ahead. A couple weeks before the announcement coming out (that he would start), we assessed and thought he was playing pretty good.

I figured he would be trying to make fun of me somehow.

He said he didn't do it and I have to believe him.

He's amazing, and his family background is amazing. What he has overcome already in life is really heart-wrenching. I know this: This team loves him. He's the type of guy who really adds to the chemistry of a football team. People can't get enough of him and what he can do with his magic.

He's one of those rare backs that has the patience, speed and power-the whole package-put together. We're going to have to do a good job of tackling and swarming the ball carrier because he's not a guy that's easy to bring down in one-on-one situations.

Weve got to do everything in the world to make sure we kill Frank Gores head. We want him running sideways. We want his head sideways.

Because we were healthy up front, we really felt that we would have a presence in the pass rush with rushing four. That helped our secondary, which was banged up a little bit when we started the game.
